I have followed the series on nick and i am confused as to why there are blue people in this new movie. Is it before or after the series on nick. It seems completely different than the cartoon. Not even close to being on the same story line. Can someone break it down for me?? Thanks!

Huge difference!
Avatar movie is about this man named Jake Sulley who’s brother died. Well Jake decided to take his job as a biologist. The biologist with him study this moon called PandoraJake’s legs are broken so he is in a wheelchair. Scientist decide to put him in a machine that makes him a Navi (the blue people). His mission as a Navi was to find out as much stuff about them and try to make them move somewhere else because there main home is on top of this type of substance that is worth a lot of movie. Now Jake is 10 feet tall and can run around. He meets this Navi called Neytiri. She is the princess and they later have a connection….. Later in the film the captain of the mission declares war on the Navi and tries to force them to leave. Jake then chose to stay on the Navi’s side because he pretty much has nothing back home. Then the humans team bombs there home tree. That forced the Navi to move. Later the Navi defeat the humans. There was about 30,000 Navi’s but now there were only like 1,000. Dramatic change! The film ends as Jake Sulley being transformed into a Navi permenatly.
Avatar the Last Airbender is just an old nick. show. It is about Aang and Katara trying to stop the fire people. The series will be produced into a movie on July 2nd, 2010.

There’s a major difference.
The Avatar movie directed by James Cameron is a completely different story.
It has nothing to do with Avatar: The Last Airbender.
So if you think that James Cameron’s “Avatar” is related to Avatar: The Last Airbender, then let me just say that no, it does not have a relation to Avatar: The Last Airbender.
If you wanna watch the film of the Nickelodeon Avatar: The Last Airbender, watch out for a movie called “The Last Airbender” directed by M. Night Shyamalan because that’s going to be the film adaption of the show.

One is based on the Nicktoons show about a kid named Aang who can airbend. And the movie out now called “Avatar” is a completely different movie about a crippled man who explores a species of blue people called Na’vis and humans and Na’vis wage war. not the same. they’re different stories, they just happen to go by similar titles.
P.S.-Avatar the Airbender is also making a movie of their own scheduled to hit 2010.

the series on nick consists of the elements and the movie is completely different with the blue people
there are no connections between the 2 though it has the same name
i can see why u would b confused
i think(but am not sure) there is another movie coming out but it is the same as the tv series(also sponsored by Nick)

avatar is completely different. it was started being made about ten years ago (it took a really long time to make it so AMAZING AND BREATHTAKING) and the name and storyline was made before the last airbender and is completely different
